The Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies is an independent, non-profit charitable foundation established in 1911 to provide for the future financial security of the Jewish Community of Buffalo and Western New York.

The Foundation works to assure the stability and continuity of Jewish life by developing and managing permanent endowment funds for the principal benefit of local Jewish agencies, organizations, temples and synagogues.

Through the generosity of a small group of anonymous donors, the
Foundation established the Teen Tzedakah Fund. This fund provides an annual opportunity for local Jewish students to participate in the Teen Tzedakah Fund Program which is designed to teach them the value and rewards of philanthropy. The program provides exciting, hands-on involvement with local non-profit organizations and fosters group cooperation and teamwork that empower students to make informed philanthropic decisions.

The Bureau of Jewish Education's mission is to draw from our collective past to inspire, inform and advance our educational and cultural future. Our High School for Jewish Studies seeks to identify and engage Jewish high school youth in the community and to provide classes and experiences in a broad range of Judaic studies. The school dedicates itself to encouraging a lifetime of Jewish study and observance, participation and responsibility to K'lal Yisrael, the community of Israel, the program strives to instill Jewish values and ethical behavior in response to the challenges of the secular world.  Each participant in the Teen Tzedakah Fund program will also receive credit from the High School for Jewish Studies.
